Fashion icons were out in force at Russian Fashion Week in Moscow

The innovative sight of the escalators at one of Moscow’s stylish shopping malls being used as a cat walk while slinky fashion models strutted to the fun sound of Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ blaring from the speakers, was a good entre to Russian Fashion Week…

For the last five years show organizers in Moscow have collaborated with aficionados in Milan resulting in what is today a major event in the world fashion calendar…Russian Fashion Week. The past four seasons have established it as a regular entry in the world fashion calendar next to national fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London and NY.

Bright red hats, Roman-like helmets, and outlandish stockings accented the grand opening. The high stepping glam event was held at the Congress Hall of Moscow’s World Trade Center from October 21st to 26th. It is the Russian fashion industry’s legendary project which this year marked its 15th anniversary.

There was a noticeable increase in the pleasure-filled sightings of strikingly beautiful, leggy women in Moscow this week, discernable from the local populace of stunning femmes only due to the swell in sheer numbers.

Over 60 of the world’s most famous fashion houses displayed their collections at this year’s extravaganza of fashion and beauty, among them Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Antonio Berardi, Fendi, Nina Ricci, Trussardi and Valentin Yudashkin. In all 50,000 visitors by invitation only, 73 fashion shows plus 40 high-society events, 35 television stations, and 700 journalists round out the list of attendees.
